BAREFOOT’S 15TH SEASON, 2026-2027

In Brief:

All the concerts except 12/18 are on Fridays at 6.30 in the Parish Hall of Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 2005 Berryman, Berkeley.

12/18 is at 7.30

This Barefoot season is extremely varied. Here’s the skinny (mark your calendars):

Our first concert (The Yarrow Consort, September 11) goes from salon music to chamber music to operatic arias to chamber orchestra. In October we have lovely music for just two viols (Joye des Violes, October 16). November 13 brings us the 400th anniversary of the demise of John Dowland, and we will hear his legendary Lachrimae, seven pavans for a lute and 5 viols, (and more). December 18 bring us the fabulous Cynthia Miller Freivogel amd Katherine Heater playing Angelic and Demonic music for violin and harpsichord.

After a break for the Winter Holidays and an extended spring break we’re back on April 2 with the return of Faythe Vollrath, harpsichord and a program of music by various members of the Couperin family. Finally, on April 30, the Barefoot House Band, Hallifax & Jeffrey, with a little help from their friends Marie Dalby Szuts and Andy Canepa play elegant and surprising English music for viols and organ.

Just the best chamber music in the right place at the right time. What more could you want?
