The Couperin Dynasty

Music by Louis Couperin, François Couperin, Armand-Louis Couperin,
and other family members

François Couperin, “Le Grand,” boldly led France to the height of musical refinement during the Baroque era. Lush harmonies, delightful ornamentation, and refined elegance are indicative of the grace that Couperin’s music brings to the concert hall. Not only François, but other members of the Couperin family were also powerful contributors to the musical development of 17th and 18th century France. François’ uncle, Louis Couperin, helped establish the distinctive French harpsichord style. Later in the 18th century, Armand-Louis Couperin moved French music towards the Galant and Classical styles. This concert celebrates the delightful music of all of the Couperin’s, and the musical dynasty they fostered in France.

Please enter the Hall from the parking lot (go down the entry ramp 50 yards East of the Church on Berryman), and then down a flight of stairs to the West of the parking area.
