BerTaMo: Letitia Berlin, recorders; Yuko Tanaka, harpsichord; and David Morris, viol; with Cynthia Black, violin
“From the North Sea to the East Bay: Chamber Music from 17th and 18th c. Germany and beyond”

Local favorites BerTaMo (Letitia Berlin, recorders; Yuko Tanaka, harpsichord; and David Morris, viol and ‘cello) are joined by the amazing Cynthia Keiko Black, violin, for a program of virtuosic music from the German Baroque. Composers will include Buxtehude, Telemann, possibly Schenck, Hacquart.
The German composers had originally learnt their baroque musical language from the Italians, but fortunately they mostly (especially Telemann) had also spent some time with the more sophisticated French music of the Bourbon court. This program reflects the best of this intriguing mix in the world of chamber music.
